Employers who have a business in California and regularly hire five or more individuals must provide training to their employees on preventing sexual harassment and abusive conduct. Nonsupervisory employees must receive at least one hour of training every two years, while supervisory employees must receive at least two hours of training during the same period. Furthermore, seasonal and temporary employees, or any individual who is hired to work for less than six months, must receive training within 30 calendar days from the date of hiring or within the first 100 hours of work, whichever comes first. If temporary workers are employed by a temporary agency, it is the agency's responsibility to train them, not the client. Employers must count all employed individuals, including full-time, part-time, and temporary workers (including employees outside of California), unpaid interns, volunteers, and contractors.
